 Deadline Extensions

Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.

 Open Seats

Ashland University

Ashland University has open seats in all undergraduate and graduate nursing programs; apply today!

  • Traditional BSN — a four-year, on-campus program with interactive, state-of-the-art simulation labs along with core and clinical nursing coursework that prepares students to become Registered Nurses.
  • Accelerated Nursing Second Degree Program — an on-campus program designed for students who have a bachelor’s degree in another field, but wish to become a Registered Nurse (15 months/4 semesters).
  • RN to BSN (online) — designed for working professionals who are licensed as Registered Nurses or preparing to complete their RN licensure. *RN-BSN new tuition rates are $265 per credit hour; $215 per credit hour for Corporate Partners.
  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) — flexible, online format with occasional on-site requirements throughout the program. Specialty tracks include Family Nurse Practitioner (BSN to DNP), Health Systems Leadership (BSN or MSN to DNP), and Advanced Practice Nurse (MSN to DNP). Application materials due March 31 for May 2019 cohort. *HRSA Nurse Faculty Loan Program also available!
  • School Nurse Program — post-bachelor certificate program consisting of online coursework and a 160 to 320-hour internship in a school setting. Completion prepares students to practice as a professional School Nurse in alignment with the ANA and NASN Scope and Standards of Professional School Nursing Practice.
  • Nurse Educator Certificate Program — prepares nurses to teach in a nursing education program or healthcare setting. Twelve credit hours of graduate-level online coursework and 48-hour practicum/project.

Barry University

Barry University is a Catholic institution situated in sunny Miami Shores, Florida. The university is home to a diverse body of students from a variety of geographic, ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds; and is committed to the highest academic standards in undergraduate and graduate education.

  1. We are currently accepting applications for our 6-semester Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program that begins in Fall 2019.
    If accepted to the Traditional Option, you will also have the opportunity to apply for admission to the Baptist Scholar’s Program. A selected group of students complete their studies at Baptist Hospital in Kendall and may be provided with an opportunity for employment within the Baptist Healthcare system upon completion of the program. Tuition for these highly-qualified and motivated students is substantially reduced. You will save over $30,000 in tuition costs and experience clinical learning at one of the most highly-rated healthcare systems in Florida.
  2. We are also accepting applications for our January 2020 Accelerated Option BSN. This program is designed for those who already have a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing. Tuition for this 4-semester program is a flat rate of $28,000 + $500/semester lab and technology fee.

Belmont University

Belmont University is located in Nashville, Tennessee. Since 2004 (14 years) 100 percent of our MSN and DNP graduates have passed the national certification exam for FNPs on their first attempt, well above the national average pass rate of 84 percent.

Each of our graduate nursing programs – the BSN-to-DNP for Family Nurse Practice (FNP), the MSN-to-DNP, the MSN for Family Nurse Practice (FNP), and post graduate APRN for Family Nurse Practice – have open seats for Fall 2019. All of these programs, except the MSN-to-DNP, are offered in a traditional classroom format on our campus. The MSN-to-DNP program is offered in a hybrid format that combines online study with once-a-month classes on Friday afternoons and Saturday in Nashville.


Jefferson College of Health Sciences

Jefferson College of Health Sciences is still accepting applications for our MSN Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program and our MSN Nursing Administration program. These programs are 100 percent online and tailored to the working nurse. For more information, please see our website.


Roseman University of Health Sciences

Greetings from Roseman University of Health Sciences!

Roseman University offers an 18-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing program designed to prepare students for entry-level registered nurse positions in a variety of healthcare environments. We have two campuses; our home campus is located outside the Las Vegas Valley in Henderson, NV and our sister campus located just 20 minutes south of Salt Lake City, UT. We are currently accepting applications for our August 2019 start date. Union College – Nebraska

Union College, one of the top nursing programs in Nebraska, is currently accepting applications for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program for August 2019 – Apply today!

University of Tennessee – Knoxville

There are still seats available for the June 2019 Accelerated BSN Cohort! We have extended our application deadline to January 2, 2019. The University of Tennessee Accelerated BSN is a 12-month program that starts in summer 2019: (June – May), to be completed in three full-time semesters.

  • Direct transfer of previous baccalaureate degree credits

Rush University

Rush University College of Nursing is pleased to announce that it will begin admitting individuals with non-nursing master’s degrees to the Transformative Leadership: Systems DNP program beginning in Fall 2019. Applicants must have BSN with a Masters in a non-nursing health related field (MBA, MPH, MHA, MMHC, etc.). For a detailed list of requirements to apply, please visit our website.


University of California – Irvine

At the Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing, we are dedicated to preparing the next generation of nurses. To us, that means providing quality education built upon scholarly research and evidence-based practice as well as an environment that nurtures the desire to continually drive improvement.

Doctor of Nursing Practice

The DNP degree is a terminal practice-doctoral degree designed to develop competencies for advanced clinical and leadership roles, preparing graduates with the skills and knowledge to be effective contributors to the translation of science and research into healthcare practice. The Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing offer two pathways to the DNP degree:

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Post-Master’s Track: A two-year year program for nurses who have an MS degree in nursing and who are seeking a practice-focused doctoral nursing degree.
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Track: A three-year program for nurses who have a BS or MS degree in nursing and who are seeking a practice-focused doctoral nursing degree and certification as a family nurse practitioner.

Program Highlights:

  • Online and hybrid courses
  • On-campus cohort sessions hosted once per quarter
  • Faculty who are leaders in clinical research, education, and clinical practice
  • Clinical practicum opportunities offered through the School of Nursing Faculty Practices

Applications are accepted between September 4 and March 1 for the following fall quarter entry. The priority deadline for applicants who would like to be considered for School of Nursing scholarships is December 1. Applications will be reviewed and admission decisions will be made after the December 1 deadline, and again after the March 1 deadline.
