The Academic Update is from December 15th, 2017 until February 15th, 2018.
You CAN make updates to your coursework section for newly completed or planned courses using a system called Academic Update. Academic Update is now closed.
The Academic Update feature will not be enabled in your application until your application has been verified. You cannot make any updates to your coursework section until your application is in the “Verified” status.
The process of submitting your Academic Update to NursingCAS is a multi step process. Please follow the instructions below to update your courses. Should you have issues please contact our Customer Service Team for assistance at 617-612-2880 OR by email at email@example.com.
Step 1. Log into your NursingCAS application and navigate to the Academic History panel
Step 2. Update any degree information under your Colleges Attended section
Step 3. Navigate to transcript entry and click EDIT under the school that you wish to update courses at.
IMPORTANT: If you did not list your college attended dates at the school you would like to update coursework for as STILL ATTENDING you will not be able to update your courses. Please contact NursingCAS Customer service to have your attendance dates corrected, once corrected you will be able to add your updated course information.
Step 4. Click the Blue Edit pencil next to the term
Step 5. Click the blue edit pencil next to each course individually. Once that is done your screen will look like this:
Step 6. Un-check the box that says In-progress/Planned. This will allow you to add the credits and grades for the courses:
Step 7. Add in the grades and credits for your new courses. Then individually click save next to each course.
Step 8. Once you have saved the individual courses click Save under the term information
Step 9. Once the term is saved as Completed the applicant will need to click Save and Exit at the top of the page:
Step 10. In order to submit your Academic Update for verification you will need to Review and finalize again. At the end of the Review and Finalize process you will see the below screen. To submit your updates to NursingCAS please click the Submit My Updates button at the end of the review and finalize process. Please note applicants are only able to submit their Academic Update ONCE during the AU period.
Once you have submitted your Academic Update to NursingCAS, your updated transcripts have posted to your application and you have an AU COMPLETE application status NursingCAS will re-verify your application to include the updated courses. From the time you submit your Academic Update and your updated transcript is received it can take up to 4 weeks for your GPA to be updated.

NOTE: NursingCAS is not responsible for items lost in the mail and it is the applicants responsibility to monitor their application status to confirm their transcripts have arrived in a timely manner. It will take 7-10 business days for your transcripts to post to your application once they have been RECEIVED in our office.
Q. Am I required to submit an Academic Update?
A: NursingCAS recommends, but does NOT require, applicants with updated grades to participate in Academic Update. However, your Nursing programs MAY require it. Please check with them directly to determine whether or not you are required to use Academic Update. If you fail to enter your updated courses, your designated programs may not consider your application or may revoke a previous offer of admission.
Q. When does the Academic Update period close and do my transcripts need to be in by that date in order for my AU to be verified?
A. The academic update period will end on July 25, 2017, however NursingCAS will continue to accept Academic Update transcripts for the duration of the cycle. Provided you have successfully submitted your academic update your GPA will be updated when the updated transcript has posted, even after July 25, 2017.
Q. Can I update or edit courses that were previously verified as repeated?
A. No, courses that were originally reported as completed cannot be modified.
Q. I started entering my updated grades and credits but then the term locked and I am unable to edit the rest of the courses. What do I do now?
A. If the term has a red lock next to it that means you accidentally changed it to a completed term before entering all of the grades and credits. Please contact NursingCAS Customer service so we can switch the term back to In-progress for you so you can continue to make changes.
Q. I submitted my Academic Update without making any changes, what do I do now?
A. Please contact NursingCAS Customer service and we can review the information with you.
Q. I updated my courses and sent an updated transcript before the Academic Update window opened, do I still need to submit my updates?
A. In order for the system to recognize that you have made changes to your Academic History that requires re-verification you will need to Review and Finalize again in order to get your application into an AU status. Please navigate to your Transcript Entry section and “edit” one of the already updated courses so you have the ability to “review and finalize” again. The only way to submit your Academic Update to NursingCAS is through the Review and Finalize process.
